One of the Five Precepts for ethical conduct, traditionally Right Speech is defined as the avoidance of four types of harmful communication: lies, divisive speech, harsh speech, and idle chatter. Even with these clear directions, though, factoring Right Speech into our daily lives can be exceedingly difficult.
